What is the difference between the LiTime 12V 100Ah Mini Basic and 12V 100Ah Mini Smart?

Similarities: Both models have similar weight and dimensions, and each features a 100A BMS.

Differences: The Smart version offers additional features beyond the Basic model:

Bluetooth 5.0: With Bluetooth, users can view battery status, control the battery’s discharge switch, and monitor the battery system via a mobile app.
Low-Temperature Protection: When temperatures drop below 0°C/32°F, the battery automatically stops charging to prevent damage. Charging will resume once temperatures rise above 5°C/41°F. For discharging, the battery shuts off automatically below -20°C/-4°F, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Advanced LiTime Self-Developed BMS Board with 20+ Protections: In addition to basic protections—Over-Charge, Over-Discharge, Over-Current, Short-Circuit, and Over-Temperature—the Smart version includes advanced protections like Overload Protection with Self-Recovery (30s), Pre-Charging Function, Moisture Resistance, Salt-Spray Resistance, and Low-Temperature Cut-Off Protection.

What battery charger should I use for the LiTime 12V 100Ah Mini LiFePO4 lithium battery?

We recommend using a 14.6V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery charger to maximize the capacity.

☆ Recommend charging voltage: 14.2V ~ 14.6V

☆ Recommend charging current: 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5hrs to 100% capacity.

50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2hrs to around 97% capacity.

Attention: ☆ Connect the charger to the battery before connecting it to the grid power in case of sparks.

☆ Remember to disconnect the charger from the battery after fully charging.

Can I use LiTime Mini Smart as starting batteries?

No. The LiTime mini batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.

If you need the marine starting batteries, visit LiTime 12V 20Ah Marine Cranking or 12V 140Ah Dual Purpose battery to choose.

Can I charge LiTime Mini LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels?

Yes, you can charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels.

The battery can be fully charged in one day (with effective sunshine 4.5 hrs/day) by 400W solar panels. It may take more than one day to fully charge the battery by ≥400W solar panels since the duration and intensity of light would be a great factor for their charging efficiency.

Besides solar panels, there are 2 more ways to charge.

2. Generator/Alternator

If the alternator or generator supports DC output, a DC-to-DC charger is needed to connect the battery to the generator; if your alternator or generator supports AC output, please add a suitable battery charger to connect the battery and the generator according to our recommendations.

The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. The Recommended Charging Current:

20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity;
50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.

3. LiFePO4 Lithium Battery Chargers

To charge 12V battery, it is recommended to use 14.6V battery charger.

LiTime 12V 100Ah mini LiFePO4 batteries can safely charge between 0℃ to 50 ℃ / 32℉ to 122 ℉. The 12V 100Ah Mini Smart has upgraded with low-temperature cut-off protection, there for the battery can be automatically cut-off charging and discharging uder low-temp to protect battery lifspan and performance.

How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?

It is recommended to store LiTime LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, recharge the batteries at least every 3 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃ to 35 ℃ / 50℉ to 95 ℉，45%RH～75％RH.
