A charger intended for a single bank is designed for a 12-volt battery, typically used with a 12-volt motor. Conversely, a 2 bank charger is specifically designed for two 12-volt batteries.
Can I use a 2 bank charger on 1 battery?
Yes.
Is it OK to leave battery charger on overnight?
Although leaving a battery on the charger overnight is generally safe , as both the charger and the battery itself have a BMS to prevent overcharging, it’s still best to monitor the charging process.
Once the battery is fully charged, disconnecting it promptly is recommended to avoid unnecessary damage.
Can this charger jump start a dead lithium batteries?
Yes, in most cases, lithium batteries become unusable due to over-discharging, prompting the Battery Management System (BMS) to activate protection. The LiTime 2-bank battery charger includes a 0V function that allows you to jump-start a dead lithium battery.
What types of batteries can I use this 2 bank battery charger to charge?
The LiTime 2-bank battery charger offers versatility, accommodating 12-volt lead-acid, AGM, LiFePO4 lithium-ion, deep cycle, and starter batteries.
Note: It is not recommended for charging 24-volt batteries; please use this charger exclusively for 12-volt batteries.
Can I fully charge the LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
Yes, LiTime LiFePO4 batteries can be charged to 100%. Unlike some other lithium battery chemistries, LiFePO4 batteries are designed to handle full charges without significant risk of damage. However, for optimal longevity, it’s often recommended to keep the battery's SOC between 20% and 80% for regular use.
Perfect charger for my situation. I add two new 100Ah batteries to support my trolling motor and added this two bank charger which I tucked under the console. I plug it in for a couple hours every time I get back from an inshore fishing trip and then all set for the next time out.
