Are LiTime LiFePO4 batteries safe?

Yes. LiFePO4 is an inherently safe chemistry and the most stable lithium-type battery on the market. LiTime lithium cells are UL certified for the highest safety and sustainability standards. All LiTime LiFePO4 batteries come with an internal Battery Management System which protects against under-voltage during discharge, over-voltage during charge, over-current during discharge, over-temperature during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection – protects battery cells from damage. Additionally, LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been tested to be free from the risk of fire, and electric shock in harsh environments.

Can I use LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries as starting batteries?

No. LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.

Can I charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels?

Yes, you can charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels. You should size your charge controller based on the voltage and current output of your solar array setup. That will ensure that your charge controller can process and regulate the power coming from your solar panels. Take a 24V MAX. 22 amps output solar system for example. You would need a solar charge controller that can handle 24 volts and 27.5 amps (125% of your max current output).

Can I charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?

LiFePO4 batteries can safely charge between 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C). LiTime 12V 100Ah TM & 230Ah LiFePO4 batteries include the low-temperature charging protection which will automatically cut the battery charging off when the cell temperature is lower than 32℉, thus preventing the battery cells from damage when charging under the freezing point.

How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?

It is recommended to store LiTime LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, cycle the batteries at least every 6 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃～35℃ (50℉～95℉），45%RH～75％RH

Live offgrid. Have several of these size batteries. Decided to try the like new one. Priced too good to refuse. We are very impressed. Runs a bunch of things at once(eg; air purifier, grow lights for garden plants,t.v.,dvd player,assortment of surge protectors, induction stovetop) without a hitch. Batteries these size in a bank of 2-4 take awhile to drain but when they do a sunny day with 9 solar panels charges them up superfast. LiTime batteries are superstrong at the discharge/ recharge capabilities. We use them really hard and we can say they are resilient batteries. Highly recommend this beautiful monster.
