How long will a 12V 200Ah battery last?
Run Time (hours) = Battery Capacity (Ah) / Current (A)
The higher the discharge rate (amount of current/amps being drawn from the battery), the shorter the duration it will last.
For example:
A 200Ah battery discharging at just 10A could theoretically last around 20 hours. Discharging at 50A would last only around 4 hours.
What's the difference between LiTime 12V 200Ah and 200Ah Plus?
The BMS boards are different. The 200Ah battery uses a 100A BMS, which can accept a maximum continuous charge/discharge current of 100A. The Plus version uses a 200A BMS, which can accept a maximum continuous charge/discharge current of 200A.
Are LiTime 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 Lithium batteries safe?
Yes. LiFePO4 is an inherently safe chemistry and the most stable lithium-type battery on the market. LiTime lithium cells are certificated by FCC, CE, RoHS, and UN38.3 to ensure their quality and safety.
All LiTime LiFePO4 batteries come with an internal Battery Management System, which protects against under-voltage during discharge, over-voltage during charge, over-current during discharge, over-temperature during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection – protects battery cells from damage.
Additionally, LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been tested to be free from the risk of fire, and electric shock in harsh environments.
Can I pair a Bluetooth Module for LiTime 12V 200Ah battery to monitor the battery status on the phone?
This battery model does not feature built-in Bluetooth. To monitor its status, you can pair it with our 500A Battery Monitor with Shunt.
If you prefer an integrated solution, we recommend our LiTime 12V 200Ah Smart Battery, which connects directly to the LiTime App for easy tracking.
Can I use this battery as starting batteries?
The 12V 200Ah battery is a deep cycle battery, expertly designed to provide steady, reliable power over long periods for applications like trolling motors, solar storage, or house electronics.
It is not designed to deliver the high-amperage burst required to start an engine. For that, you need a dedicated starting or dual-purpose battery.
For Your Marine Starting Needs, We Recommend:
- For Dedicated Starting: Our LiTime 12V 20Ah 800CCA Marine Cranking Battery.
- For an All-in-One Solution: Our LiTime 12V 140Ah 1000CCA Dual-Purpose Battery, which handles both starting and deep cycle needs.

How to charge the 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
You have several versatile options for charging your LiFePO4 battery. For all methods, the recommended charging voltage is 14.2V to 14.6V.
- Using Solar Panels: A full charge can be achieved in one day with at least 800W of solar panels under ideal sun conditions (4.5+ hours). Results will vary with weather. An solar charge controller is required.
- Using a LiFePO4 Smart Charger: This is the most direct method. At 40A (0.2C), the battery will be fully charged in about 5 hours. At 100A (0.5C), it will reach about 97% capacity in 2 hours.
- Using a Generator or Alternator: For DC power sources like a vehicle alternator, a DC-to-DC charger is necessary. For AC power sources like a generator, use a compatible AC-to-DC smart battery charger.
Curious if a standard charger will work? Read our guide: Can I Charge LiFePO4 Batteries with a Normal Charger?
Is it okay to keep the charger connected to the battery without disconnecting?
It is recommended to disconnect the charger from the battery or unplug the charger plug from the socket when the storage battery is fully charged. Otherwise, it may cause the battery BMS to trigger overcharging protection.
If BMS protection is frequently triggered, the BMS will be damaged over time, leading to degradation of the battery system performance or even damage.
Can I charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?
For This 12V 200Ah Battery: Please be aware that this model should only be charged when the battery's temperature is above 32°F (0°C). Charging in freezing temperatures will damage the cells. On cold days, the best practice is to bring the battery indoors to charge.
For a detailed explanation, please read our complete Guide to LiFePO4 Battery Temperature Ranges.
For Charging in Freezing Temperatures: If your application requires charging in sub-zero weather (e.g., winter RVing, off-grid cabins), consider our LiTime Cold Weather Batteries. These advanced batteries include a built-in system (low-temperature charging off protection) that automatically manages charging in the cold, protecting your investment.
How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
It is recommended to store LiTime LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, cycle the batteries at least every 6 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃~35℃ (50℉~95℉), 45%RH~75%RH
