FAQ
Q: My current RV is using a 12V system, if I upgrade to a 48V system with this 48v solar battery, what obvious life improvements will I see?
A: The most obvious improvement of upgrading the 12V system to 48V is that you can use high-power electrical appliances, such as an air conditioner, refrigerator, or oven in your RV to greatly enhance your off-grid living experience. Plus thinner cables can be used to connect the battery to the rest of the 48V system, thus reducing transmission loss, and improving the safety of your solar setup.
Q: What charger do you recommend for the 48V 100Ah LiFePO4 solar battery?
A: We recommend using a 54.75V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery charger to maximize the capacity. ☆ Recommend charging voltage: 53.25V ~ 54.75V ☆ Recommend charging current: 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5hrs to 100% capacity. 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2hrs to around 97% capacity. Attention: ☆ Connect the charger to the battery before connecting it to the grid power in case of sparks. ☆ Remember to disconnect the charger from the battery after fully charging.
Q: If I purchase a 48V LiFePO4 battery, what inverter should I pair it with?
A: LiTime 48V 100Ah lithium battery could support Max.4800W load power, and we recommend using a 5000W inverter..
Q: What is the nominal amps load that this 48V battery is designed to take? What Max amps can it take?
A: LiTime server rack LiFePO4 battery supports the Max. 4800W load power, and you could normally use it under the load lower than 4800W. This 48V 100Ah lithium battery takes the Max. 100 amps.
Q: If the 48V server rack lithium battery is always charged to 100%, discharged to 0%, and recharged at the maximum continuous charging rate, can I still get 4000 cycles out of it?
A: LiTime server rack lifepo4 battery supports 4000+ 100% SOC & DOD. If you would like to extend the battery life, we suggest you charging/discharging it to 80% capacity.
Q: Can this 48V server rack LiFePO4 battery handle rough treatment? I want to install it in a riding lawn mower that rides roughly over a lot of uneven lawns.
A: LiTime server rack lifepo4 battery with built-in 100A BMS has 4800Wh energy, and supports the Max. 4800W load power and Max. 100A continuous charge/discharge current. We have a lot of customers feedback that our 48V solar battery is applicable for Ryobi, John Deere electric riding lawn mowers.
Q: How many 48V server rack lifepo4 solar batteries can I connect in series or parallel?
A: Please DO NOT connect LiTime 48V lifepo4 solar batteries in series. LiTime 48v solar battery supports up to 4 identical batteries connected in parallel for up to 48V 400Ah battery bank.
Q: Are LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries safe?
A: Yes. LiFePO4 is an inherently safe chemistry and the most stable lithium-type battery on the market. LiTime lithium cells are UL certified for the highest safety and sustainability standards. All LiTime LiFePO4 batteries come with an internal Battery Management System which protects against under-voltage during discharge, over-voltage during charge, over-current during discharge, over-temperature during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection – protects battery cells from damage. Additionally, LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been tested to be free from the risk of fire, and electric shock in harsh environments.
Q: Can I use LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries as starting batteries?
A: No. LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.
Q: Can I charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels?
A: Yes, you can charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels. You should size your charge controller based on the voltage and current output of your solar array setup. That will ensure that your charge controller can process and regulate the power coming from your solar panels. Take a 24V MAX. 22 amps output solar system as example. You would need a solar charge controller that can handle 24 volts and 27.5 amps (125% of your max current output).
Q: Can I charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?
A: LiFePO4 batteries can safely charge between 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C). If you have frequent low-temp charging needs, we recommend you our self-heating series. If you have occasional low-temp needs we recommed you our 12V 100Ah Smart battery. LiTime 12V 100Ah Smart LiFePO4 batteries include the low-temperature charging protection which will automatically cut the battery charging off when the cell temperature is lower than 32℉, thus preventing the battery cells from damage when charging under the freezing point. If necessary (not recommended), you can push the low-temp protection button twice, then the BMS would allow your battery to charge under the freezing point for emergency use.
Q: How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
A: It is recommended to store LiTime LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, cycle the batteries at least every 6 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃~35℃ (50℉~95℉), 45%RH~75%RH.
