Why I Needed a Better Golf Cart Battery Setup

My family uses this cart for almost everything, especially taking the kids to school and getting around the neighborhood.

The four old Trojan lead-acid batteries had not completely failed, but they were becoming weaker and were extremely heavy. I wanted to use the cart more often, take it more places, and add useful accessories in the future.

Instead of waiting for the old system to fail, I decided to upgrade to lithium and give the cart a better foundation for everyday family use.

Why I Chose LiTime's Batteries?

I wanted more than a standalone battery. I wanted a complete 48V conversion setup that included the main components needed for installation.

The LiTime 48V 100Ah lithium golf cart battery kit came with the battery, charger, monitoring screen, Bluetooth capability, wiring, and mounting hardware. The mounting components were especially useful because the battery compartment in an older Club Car Precedent is not completely flat.

I also installed a NOCO charging port, an additional fuse panel, and a 48V-to-12V reducer so I could add more accessories later.

My LiTime Setup and Initial Results

The conversion involved removing the old batteries and charging components, relocating some existing electronics, mounting the new battery, and installing the charger and monitoring screen.

Once everything was connected, the screen showed approximately 52.7V and normal communication with the battery. The cart moved, the reverse buzzer worked, and the headlights came on.

I completed the entire conversion in just under four hours while filming. My next steps are to test the LiTime app, monitor the battery during real-world trips, and install a 12V cooler for family outings and ice cream runs with the kids.
