Protect your battery from the "Big Freeze." Charging LiFePO₄ cells in sub-zero temperatures can cause permanent damage. Our LiHeat™ technology acts like a smart thermostat, pre-warming the cells to a safe range before charging starts, ensuring peak performance even at -20°C.
LiHeat™ combines plug-in heating and self-powered heating, works down to –20°C, and can be managed under “Efficient-Energy Mode”. Most regular self-heating batteries only heat while charging and offer limited control.
You can easily toggle between two smart heating modes within the App to suit your current power setup:
(1) Regular Mode (External Power Only):
How it works: The heating system draws power only from the external charger.
Best for: When you are connected to power or a generator and want to preserve 100% of your battery’s stored energy.
(2) Energy-efficient Mode (LiHeat™ Dual-Mode):
How it works: This mode activates the full potential of LiHeat™.The BMS smartly balances power from both the charger and the battery itself to reach the target temperature as quickly as possible.
Best for: Rapid warming in extreme cold or when charger output is limited.
Tip: If you want to fully preserve battery power, select "Regular Mode"; if you urgently need to charge and the environment is extremely cold, enable "Energy-efficient Mode".
Yes, absolutely. LiHeat™ provides a seamless solution whether you are at a campsite or deep off-grid:
With Shore Power (Campsites/Home): Simply plug in. Energy-efficient Mode will automatically use the incoming power to warm the cells. Once the internal temperature reaches a safe threshold (approx. 10°C), the system automatically switches to charging.
Off-Grid/Outdoors (Solar/No Power): You can use the Energy-efficient Mode to initiate "self-powered heating." The battery uses its own energy to "break the ice" and warm itself up. Once the cells are safe, you can then connect your solar panels or portable generator to charge, even if the ambient air is still –20°C.
Most LiFePO₄ batteries should not be charged below 32°F/0°C as charging at freezing temperatures can cause lithium plating and permanent cell damage.
To ensure safe charging and long-term battery health, the internal cell temperature typically needs to be raised to above 0°C — and ideally around 41°F/5°C — before charging begins.
In cold environments below freezing, a self-heating system like LiHeat™ helps warm the cells to a safe temperature range, allowing stable performance and safe charging even when ambient temperatures drop to -4°F/–20°C.
