At LiTime, we love sharing real user experiences from the field. Below is the story from Отпетые Пришельники, who completely changed their lives in order to follow their dream of full-time travel. After selling their successful restaurant in Germany, they moved into a retro 1999 Hymer motorhome named “Hippo” and began exploring the wild corners of Europe while building a more comfortable and fully autonomous life on the road.
Choosing a Different Way to Live
We are Отпетые Пришельники, and at one point, we decided to completely change our lives in order to follow our dream. We were tired of strict work schedules and living by the clock. Instead of noisy kitchens and restaurant duties, we wanted to wake up to birdsong and views of forests, rivers, and mountains.
So we sold our successful restaurant in Germany and bought a retro 1999 Hymer motorhome, which we lovingly named “Hippo.” For more than a year now, we have been living in Hippo full-time, exploring the wild corners of Europe and enjoying real freedom.

Turning a Motorhome Into a Real Home
We completed all of the upgrades to the motorhome ourselves, without outside help. It was important to us not to lose the comforts we were used to, and we wanted our new home to feel just as convenient as an apartment.
That is why we equipped it with everything we needed for comfortable living: a washing machine, dishwasher, coffee maker, hair dryers, blenders, an air grill, an oven, and many other gadgets. We even installed a smart home system to make life on the road truly comfortable.
Why the Electrical System Mattered Most
We paid special attention to the electrical system, because for autonomous travel, it is the heart of everything. We always wanted to have 220 volts on board, just like in a regular apartment, so we could use all of our appliances without limitations. Our motorhome uses a 24-volt system that converts to 220 volts, while all life-support equipment runs on 12 volts.

Previously, we used an old lead-acid battery, but it often discharged and did not hold a charge well. For a full-time motorhome lifestyle, that simply was not enough.
What Changed With LiTime
Now we have a LiTime 12V 320Ah Battery, and thanks to it, our 12-volt system runs incredibly long without needing a recharge. For a motorhome, this battery is a perfect fit: it is compact enough to fit under the seat, it weighs about the same as a standard 120Ah lead-acid battery, and yet its capacity is four times greater.
With this battery, our electrical system finally feels complete. We can park Hippo in the wildest places, enjoy nature, and stay fully autonomous. No more crowded campgrounds and no more unnecessary restrictions—just us, our home on wheels, and freedom.

Power That Makes Freedom Feel Real
For us, LiTime means more than just battery capacity. It means the confidence to live the way we always imagined—comfortably, independently, and close to nature. Freedom is not about living with less just because you are off-grid. It is about having the ability to live well anywhere.
That is exactly what this system made possible for us. It allows us to keep the comforts we value while fully embracing life on the road.
