User Stories Reveal Why Boaters Are Making the Electric Switch
Throughout the campaign, participants shared the pain points of traditional propulsion systems: limited range, constant physical effort from paddling or pedal drives, plus the fuel smells, loud noise, vibration and regular maintenance required by gas outboards.
Many contributors documented their personal transition journeys. Canadian boater Serhii started out with only paddles, then upgraded to a trolling motor paired with heavy lead-acid batteries that suffered capacity loss on longer trips.
After switching to a LiTime 12V 140Ah LiFePO₄ battery, he gained lighter weight, stable power and new confidence for extended fishing trips.
“I started in 2024 with nothing but paddles. Today I’m fishing with electric power,” Serhii shared.
