What is the lifespan of the LiTime 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery?
A LiTime LiFePO4 lithium battery offers 4,000 to 15,000 life cycles, translating to 10 years or more depending on usage. In contrast, lead-acid and AGM batteries typically provide only 300 to 500 life cycles before significant capacity loss. While LiTime LiFePO4 batteries have a higher upfront cost, they deliver substantial long-term savings. Select more 12V batteries for your need.
How long will a 12V 50Ah lithium battery last?
The output current of a 50Ah lithium battery is inversely related to usage time. For instance, if it delivers 50 amps, the theoretical runtime is one hour. At 25 amps, it lasts for two hours; at 10 amps, it runs for five hours; and at 5 amps, it continues for ten hours, and so on.
How long to charge a 12V 50Ah lithium battery?
LiTime advises using the 12V 10A LiFePO4 lithium battery charger for the 50Ah battery, which will fully charge it in approximately 5 hours (50Ah ÷ 10A = 5h).
Can I use the 12V 50Ah lithium ion batteries as starting batteries?
No. LiTime 12V 50Ah lithium batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.

Can I charge 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 lithium ion batteries with solar panels?
Yes, you can charge LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries with solar panels. Here are 3 reliable ways to charge
1. Using Solar Panels + Solar Charge Controller
The LiTime 12V 50Ah battery can be fully charged by in one day (with effective sunshine 4.5hrs/day) by 200W solar panels. It may take more than one day to fully charge the battery by ≥200W solar panels since the duration and intensity of light would be a great factor for their charging efficiency.
2. Generator/Alternator
If the alternator or generator supports DC output, a DC-to-DC charger is needed to connect the battery to the generator; if your alternator or generator supports AC output, please add a suitable battery charger to connect the battery and the generator according to our recommendations.
The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. The Recommended Charging Current: ① 10A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 25A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.
To charge 12V battery, it is recommended to use 14.6V battery charger.
The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V.

Can I charge 12V 50Ah batteries in cold weather (under freezing temperatures)?
For This 12V 50Ah Battery: Please be aware that this model should only be charged when the battery's temperature is above 32°F (0°C). Charging in freezing temperatures will damage the cells. On cold days, the best practice is to bring the battery indoors to charge.
For Charging in Freezing Temperatures: If your application requires charging in sub-zero weather (e.g., winter RVing, off-grid cabins), consider our LiTime Cold Weather Batteries. These advanced batteries include a built-in system (low-temperature charging off protection) that automatically manages charging in the cold, protecting your investment.
How do I store LiTime 50Ah LiFePO4 lithium batteries?
For optimal longevity, store your LiFePO4 batteries under the following conditions:
Storage Recommendations
- State of Charge (SOC): Store batteries at a 50% state of charge. Avoid storing them fully charged or completely discharged.
- Regular Recharging: If storing for an extended period, recharge the batteries to 50% at least every three months to prevent deep discharge and maintain cell balance.
- Temperature: The ideal storage temperature is between -10°C to 50°C / 14°F to 122°F.
- Humidity: Maintain a relative humidity of 5%~95%.
- Protective Casing: Can store the batteries in a dedicated battery box to protect them from physical damage, dust, and moisture.
Best Practices for Long-Term Storage
For storage exceeding three months, adhering to these guidelines will significantly preserve your battery's health and performance:
- Disconnect Completely: Ensure the batteries are disconnected from all loads and charging sources. This prevents slow parasitic drains that can lead to over-discharge.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Storing batteries outside the recommended temperature range can accelerate degradation. In particular, high heat can permanently damage the battery's capacity.
- Cycle Before Use: After a long storage period, it's good practice to cycle the battery (one full charge and discharge) before putting it back into regular service.
