    FAQ

Q: Is an MPPT too big?

    A:

There is a practical limit, if the solar array is too large then the power is just wasted, since the charge controller is always limiting the output. A typical recommendation is to limit the solar array to 110%-125% of the maximum controller rating.

Q: Does an MPPT make a battery overcharge?

    A:

LiTime solar charge controllers use maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technology which optimize solar production and control the battery charging voltage to prevent overcharging.

Q: What does an MPPT do when the battery is charged to full?

    A:

When the battery voltage reaches a point where the battery charger decides that the battery is full, the charger will cut out, and stop drawing power from the MPPT controller. In other words, the battery charger will present a high impedance to the MPPT controller.

Q: Can I connect an MPPT with an inverter directly?

    A:

No! MPPT solar charge controllers help to flow the current efficiently into your depleted battery. If we connect an MPPT solar charge controller directly to the inverter, your soalr system can get damaged, but if not damaged, there will be zero input in the inverter. So connecting MPPTs directly to the inverter is a bad idea!

Q: How big of a MPPT solar charge controller do I need?

    A:

You take the total watts of the solar array divided by the voltage of the battery bank. That will give you the output current of the soalr charge controller. For example, a 1000W solar array ÷ 24V battery bank = 41.6A. The rating of the charge controller should be at least 40A.

Q: Is MPPT better than PWM?

    A:

MPPT controllers are generally pricier compared to PWM controllers. However, they operate more efficiently under specific conditions, enabling them to generate more power using the same quantity of solar modules than a PWM controller.

    60A MPPT with Bluetooth

It is very well made 60A MPPT.
It has a large heatsink to dissipate the heat without the need of the noisy fan.
It is very easy to set up using the front panel buttons or using Bluetooth.
I like that I can go into user mode so I can set the parameters to match my LiFePO4 batteries.
it is very efficient in converting Solar power input to battery charging power, I get about 97%.
I now have two of them and I'm very happy with them so far.
I do hope that they will release the new version that will allow you to set the charging current as needed.

    Disappointing.... Very Disappointing.

I received this 60amp bluetooth Charge Controller, installed it and it worked perfectly... for a few hours. Then, the bluetooth shut off. That was about 10 days ago. I did everything I can think of to try to reset the device, and bluetooth just no longer works. I've even upgraded my phone since then and tried on 4 other devices, it's the charge controller.
The manual has absolutely nothing about the bluetooth. The manual for bluetooth section: "QR code to download the app" [done]

I reached out to customer service and waited almost a week. No response. I sent a follow-up email and a few days later they told me that if I send the charge controller back to them, once the receive it, they'll send me a replacement item.

I'm in the middle of nowhere, off grid. It takes 7 days, minimum to ship them my item. Then it is week to get a new item.

That's 2 weeks without any power.

This company has no customer service, and given that I've sunk a few *thousand* dollars into their equipment, it is very disappointing to be brushed off after having their equipment fail on me.

    Very disappointed.

Do not bother buying this piece of equipment.

Will update if they reach out and send me a replacement without making me go without power for 2 weeks.

    Great Controller so far

I have had this controller running non stop for about 2 months now and havent had any issues with it , running approximately 700W worth of panels and 12v 400 ah Li time battery and runs my fridge 100% on solar, ordered two more to of these units to power AC this summer.
