LiTime 12V 100Ah Self Heating LiFePO4 Lithium Battery with 100A BMS, Low Temperature Protection

【2X Heating Performance】Featuring an advanced 100W heating pad, the new LiTime 12V100Ah battery delivers twice the warming power of previous models. Capable of heating from 14°F to 41℉ in just 30-60 minutes and -4℉ to 41 within 70-100 minutes, it slashes heating times in half compared to earlier versions. This allows for highly efficient charging even in harsh sub-freezing conditions.

【Automatic Heating & Cut-off】The upgraded BMS safeguards battery health with an automatic heating feature. Once connected to a charger, an integrated low-temperature sensor will initiate self-warming if cell temperatures fall below 0°C/32°F. This prevents freezing damage during the charging process. The battery then charges as normal once internal temperatures rise above 5°C/41°F, at which point the BMS automatically suspends heating.

【Grade A LiFePO4 Cells & Low Temperature Cut-off】Featuring grade-A LiFePO4 chemistry, the LiTime 12V100Ah battery delivers 10+ years of service with over 4,000 deep discharge cycles at 100% capacity, and rated for 6,000 cycles at 80% and an astounding 15,000 cycles at 60% - vastly outlasting the 3-year, 200-500 cycle lifespans of typical lead-acid alternatives. The intelligent BMS cuts charging currents below 0°C/32°F to safeguard performance in freezing conditions while disconnecting loads below -20°C/-4°F to protect both the battery and connected devices in extreme cold.

【Application Tips】Equivalent to group 31 batteries size. The 12V 100Ah self-heating LiFePO4 battery is recommended for 30~70lbs thrust trolling motor. While the LiTime 12V 100Ah self-heating battery delivers dependable power for many applications, it is not intended for uses that require high currents during start-up, such as golf carts or engine starting.

    FAQ

    Q: Do I need a self-heating lithium battery?

A: We've had customers use this battery when skiing ice fishing or doing other various winter activities. You can use and discharge LiTime lithium batteries in cold temperatures, but a self-heated battery might be what you want if you plan to charge it in the cold.

Q: How does the self-heating work?

A: The auto self-heating function will be activated by the BMS when the battery is connected to a charger at -20℃ to 5℃ (-4℉ to 41℉). The heating will stop when the battery temperature reaches 10℃ (-4℉).

Q: What are the differences between Self-Heating and Low-temperature protection batteries?

    A:

These two series primarily address the charging issues of LiFePO4 lithium batteries in cold weather. The main difference between the Low-Temperature series and the Self-Heating series lies in the presence of an automatic Battery Management System (BMS) heating module. The Self-Heating series allows the battery to self-warm without any action required from the user while charging. However, the Low-Temperature Protection series like LiTime 12V 100Ah TM & LiTime 12V 230Ah will automatically cut-off the charging when the temperature is below 0℃ (32℉), and it requires you to take some measures, such as placing the battery in a warm indoor environment, to warm it up to 5℃ (41℉) and restore charging capability.

Read on LiTime Low-Temperature Batteries VS Self-Heating Series for more information.

Q: Does the lithium battery charge itself while heating?

    A:

No. The charging will start after the lithium battery heats itself to 10℃ (50℉).

Q: Can the LiTime 100Ah self-heating lithium battery be charged while heating?

A: Yes. The LiTime 12V 100Ah self-heating LiFePO4 lithium battery can discharge if it has power while heating. However, we don't recommend discharging during the heating process, as it may harm the performance and lifespan of the battery.

Q: Can I add heating facilities to help with external heating?

    A:

External heating only heats the casing and does not heat the battery cells. In conditions of -20°C, after external heating for two hours, the battery cells temperature rise to 5°C, but the lead-acid casing temperature has risen to 70-80°C.

Therefore, it is not recommended to externally heat the battery, as the actual cell temperature cannot be determined at this time.

Q: How much does a LiTime group 31 battery weight?

    A:

LiTime 12V 100Ah Self Heating LiFePO4 Lithium Battery, equivalent to group 31 battery size, weigh on 24.3 lbs, much lighter than 12V 100Ah lead-acid batteries on the market.

All LiTime LiFePO4 batteries come with an internal Battery Management System which protects against under-voltage during discharge, over-voltage during charge, over-current during discharge, over-temperature during charge and discharge, and short-circuit protection – protects battery cells from damage. Additionally, LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries have been tested to be free from the risk of fire, and electric shock in harsh environments.

Q: Can I use LiTime LiFePO4 Lithium batteries as starting batteries?

A: No. LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries are not intended to be used as starting batteries but energy storage, please do not use them to start any devices.

Q: How to charge LiTime 12V LiFePO4 Lithium batteries with solar panels?

    A:

    1. Using Solar Panels

The battery can be fully charged in one day (with effective sunshine 4.5 hrs/day) by 300W solar panels. It may take more than one day to fully charge the battery by ≥300W solar panels since the duration and intensity of light would be a great factor for their charging efficiency. Besides solar panels, there are 2 more ways to charge. Suggest reading: 3 reliable ways to charge LiFePO4 lithium batteries

    2. Generator/Alternator

If the alternator or generator supports DC output, a DC-to-DC charger is needed to connect the battery to the generator; if your alternator or generator supports AC output, please add a suitable battery charger to connect the battery and the generator according to our recommendations. The Recommended Charging Voltage: 14.2V - 14.6V. The Recommended Charging Current: ① 20A (0.2C): the battery will be fully charged in around 5 hrs to 100% capacity; ② 50A (0.5C): the battery will be fully charged in around 2 hrs to around 97% capacity.

    3. LiFePO4 Smart Chargers

To charge 12V battery, it is recommended to use 14.6V battery charger.

    A:

Yes.  The self heating lithium battery can safely charge between -20℃ to 50℃ ( -4℉ to 122℉). The built in self-heating pad will automaticlly start heating the battery.

Q: How do I store LiTime LiFePO4 lithium batteries?

A: It is recommended to store LiTime LiFePO4 batteries at 50% state of charge (SOC). If the batteries are stored for long periods, cycle the batteries at least every 6 months. Recommended storage environment: 10℃~35℃ (50℉~95℉), 45%RH~75%RH

Q: Can I pair a Bluetooth Module for this battery to monitor the battery status on the phone?

    A:

No. This battery is not compatible with the Bluetooth module. You can use a 500A Battery Monitor With Shunt to keep track of battery status.

Q: What should I do if the 12v 100ah lithium ion battery shuts off due to the low state of charge(SoC)?

    A:

If your battery completely shuts off due to low SOC, disconnect loads immediately and recharge it as soon as possible to prevent damage.

    So far so good.

These batteries work great and a fraction of the cost of some other brands, and they internal heating. The first time using I trolled for 7 hours and the batteries tester on my minnkota said they were still full charge.

    Very impressed for the price

I replaced a Renogy battery battery by this one. It is mounted on a Thor Magestic 23a from 2014 and honestly I don't see the difference with the Renogy (except for the price!). The full solar system is Renogy, and the AC-DC is an 45 Amp - WF-8945-AD from WFCO. Battery is truly 100Ah and discharge 98% of it (I guess I lose a bit on the cable and the monitoring systems). I had the occasion to test it during the last polar vortex this winter when temperature fell is the 10s and the self heating feature seemed to do the job according to the battery monitor and inverter.
    Very happy with this purchase.
